Usage and Attribution

This guide is intended to be freely shareable as an educational field reference. A few ground rules keep it clean for open-source publication:

Do not reproduce paid standards tables (e.g. the body of MIL-DTL or IEC documents) in derivative versions of this guide. Reference them and point readers to the source.
Do not copy proprietary catalog tables verbatim. Use public manufacturer datasheets and standards references for verification, and summarize in your own words.
Manufacturer names, standards, trademarks, and connector family names (Amphenol, Glenair, Souriau, ITT Cannon, TE, Molex, JST, Harting, Phoenix Contact, WAGO, Weidmüller, Anderson, Harwin, Omnetics, and others) remain the property of their respective owners and are used here only for identification and education.

Photographs and diagrams

The line-art diagrams (static/img/diagrams/) are original to this project and carry the documentation license below.
The connector photographs (static/img/photos/) are third-party works used under their own Creative Commons licenses (CC BY / CC BY-SA, various versions), sourced from Wikimedia Commons and Flickr. Each photo is credited in its caption with the photographer and license, linked to the source page. Those photos are not relicensed by this project — if you reuse one, follow its own license and credit the original photographer. No manufacturer marketing photography is used.

This project is dual-licensed, matching the repository LICENSE files:

Documentation and content — Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). This includes the Tools & Templates pages: the templates are documentation content, so copy and adapt them freely with attribution under CC BY 4.0.
Code and configuration — MIT License.
